Summer Learning Journey Individual Pursuits Activity 1 Day 4 Week 1

Indavidual Pursuits [4 Points]

3 people that are incredible woman tennis players.  There names were Billie Jean King, Venus Williams, Serena Williams.  What they were trying to do were trying to get all the woman players that play tennis to get the same amount of money that men get from tennis.  Billie/Billie Jean King beat a male player so everyone would know that the woman could be just as good as the men in tennis.

    Hi again Healy,

    Thanks for sharing that information about the three tennis players - do you play tennis? My dad is really good at it and I gave it a go when I was younger but haven’t tried it in a while, but I might get back into it! It’s such a good form of exercise. I also like how you’ve discussed Billie Jean King. A couple of years ago I saw a movie about Billie Jean King called “Battle of the Sexes” - It was a great movie and I found it really inspirational :)

    Malo Healy, how is your day going today? What have you been upto?

    I hope your summer is going well and you’re spending lots of time resting and hanging out in the sunshine before school starts again :) I’m going to be spending this weekend swimming with my friends and family in the sun, yay!

    Just a gentle reminder that the Summer Learning Journey finishes next Friday (24th January) so you have until then to do as many activities as you can. Remember that the more activities you do, the more points you gain and the higher the chance of you winning some really cool prizes!
